Unexpected Winners of the Annual Wild Hog Canoe Race

On Saturday, April 19th, Evan and Ivan competed in the Annual Wild Hog Canoe Race. Much to the surprise of the other racers, they beat the rest of their class, taking first place with a winning time of 2 hours and 14 minutes!
Most of the other teams underestimated them because they look so young.  What they didn't know, was that Evan and Ivan have been regularly practicing the grueling trip down the river in preparation for the great race!
Here they come!

The race is 15 miles long, down a winding, tree and rock strewn river, crowded with over 120 other boats, all pressing toward the finish line.

There are two logs that all the racers and their canoes have to go over.

Under the bridge.

They were so worn out by the time they got to that second log.

But over goes the canoe!

And over goes Evan!  (Yes, the legs sticking up in the air are his.)

Then back in the canoe to paddle across the finish line.

"We can do it!"

Several times later that day, Evan heard various other racers commenting in wonder about "the flying guys in orange!"
Looks don't make that much of a difference when you're racing over 15 miles of obstacle-strewn river!

Good job, Evan and Ivan!
