The Lord knows best...

What could possibly be good about nearly burning the house down?  (Okay, nearly might be a slight exaggeration.)  Well, although I don't know, God does.  I am so thankful for Romans 8:28 when something goes "wrong".  Now to back up a few days and make myself intelligible to my readers:           It was Saturday morning and being the 3rd one of the month, our local farmers' market was in full swing.  Daddy and Evan went early so they could set up their stand (for high speed internet  and computer repair- it qualifies for the market because they focus on under served and rural areas with the internet).  The rest of us followed with breakfast about an hour later.  Before we left Mama asked me to start a roast on the stove.  Well, I am notorius for putting food on too high a heat, and I did it again, turning the dial to slightly under medium.  Under ordinary circumstancest that would have been fine, but we were even later than usual in getting home, for some folks we met invited us out to their house, and we wound up staying for over an hour.  Ironically, or rather, providentially, they told us of a kitchen firre they once had, and cause was forgetting a piece of meat on the stove.   Well, when we got home, what should we find, but a terribly smoke-filled house, and all of it coming from the pot on the stove .  Daddy at once carried it out on the deck.  When  he removed the lid to investigate flames burst out.  They were promptly quenched by replacing the lid, but the smoke was a different matter.  It had completely permeated the house.  I don't know if you've ever smelled consumed roast, but it is horrible.  My buck goat smells delightful in comparison.  We made lunch, then rested the best we could in our fragrant house.  The good news- our house is still intact (the smell has greatly decreases too).  The Lord mercifully preserved it, even though the roast was completely burnt up.                                                                                                                                 Now, for the working together of things to the good...  Some things are obvious-  we've given the house a much needed deep cleaning, done some repainting, and also lots of touching up.  Also, the little guys have gotten some painting experience, and we have done lots of work together as a family.  I don't know if this is the extent of the Lord's plans from this fire, but I'm just thankful He knows best.
