Snapshots From Our Vacation~ Pt. 5: Homeward Bound!

Like all other good things, vacations must sometime come to an end, so we said packed up, said goodbye, and headed back to Kentucky.

Evan and I drove separate, in his new truck, which he picked up there in Michigan.

And we had to go about an hour out of our way to pick up the new addition to our farm:  my lovely blue merle Border Collie puppy, Cleone.

The drive to Grandmother and PaPa's was quite interesting.  We had a breakdown in central Indiana, which Evan quickly diagnosed as an easy, 10 minute fix.  Three hours later, we finally had the truck running again.  By the time we got back on the road it was about seven PM, and Evan was running on almost no sleep.  By the time we got to Louisville, it was pouring rain, and there was lots of construction in progress around the Ohio river.  I was the navigator, and of course Evan was driving, but it was the Lord Who got us safely to our destination.  We were so thankful to arrive there with no problems!

The next day, we picked up Farrah, and made the rest of the long drive to Florida.

Cleone turned out to be a good traveler.

And then we were home at last!  It was nice to have an extra day to prepare for everyone else before they got home.

And, after all, there really is no place like home!
